Boards

1. Can I try a board before I buy one?

We are planning out our Demo Tour right now, look for updates soon.

2. I am really confused about sizing the board, where do I begin?

If you are a beginner, choose the beginner mode from the configurEIGHTor and it will size a board for you. If you already have a board you like to ride, look up the specifications for that board and then change some of the things you don't like about the board (for instance, if you have toe drag on your current board, widen it out a bit).

3. Do I really need a lot of inserts?

No, in fact we recommend the least amount of inserts possible. If you don't know what your preferred stance is, go ahead and add the typical 8-pack. Most people never change their stance around and the excess inserts create unnecessary holes in the core. However, the one advantage of having extra stance options is that you can shift your stance back on a powder day (although you are better off having a specific powder board for those deep days). Mass produced boards offer multiple stance locations because they are not made for an individual.

4. I want rocker!

Whoa, settle down, that is not even a question. Do you mean "I would like my board to have reverse camber?". If so, then our answer is soon. We are still evaluating the performance of our own blend of this technology. It is a likely candidate for next year's lineup or potentially a late model year release.

Graphics

1. Can I make my own base graphics?

You cannot make your own base graphics. Unfortunately, the same process for making the topsheet graphics does not work well on the base material, and leads to blurry images. We are looking into making this an option in the future.

2. What are my options for making my own graphics for the topsheet?

Anything you can design on a computer, you can put onto the topsheet of the snowboard. This includes anything within your favorite drawing program, scans, etc. In order for a snowboard sized graphic to look its best, the bigger the image the better the result. Team Eight reserves the right to deny any obscene or copyrighted material. It is up to the designer to obtain the rights to use any material that is not original.

3. Can I send you vector art?

Of course! In fact it is highly encouraged in order to obtain the best results. However, we realize that vector-based illustration programs are very intimidating to the average user so we are not forcing anyone to use these programs.

4. Will the colors on my board be exactly the same as my design?

Due to computer monitor calibration variation and printing tolerances, colors may not be an exact match on your final board. This does not mean that something you wanted to be green will be pink, but it does mean that there might be slight variations in saturation/hue.

5. Why is the template that you sent larger than my board?

The process for transferring the graphics onto the topsheet is subject to some size alteration. Unfortunately this makes it almost impossible to perfectly align the graphic in the same way it is designed on the computer. Therefore we do not recommend trying to line up any part of the image exactly with the edge of the board since it may be cut off.

6. Why do I have to use the glossy material for a topsheet with graphics?

The matte material does not reproduce the image with crisp/accurate colors and leads to a very blurry image.

7. The base material that I chose for a board is not there anymore, what happened?

We are always receiving new base materials and don't always carry the same colors. We update the configurEIGHTor as our stock changes, so if there is something you particularly like, get it while it's hot!
